APL Advisory on Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach Closures

September 23rd, 2014

Port of Los Angeles/Port of Long Beach closures

Dear APL Valued Customer,

Please be aware of the interruption of regular operating conditions at many Los Angeles and Long Beach terminals after a fire broke out at the Pasha Warehouse facility in Wilmington, CA early yesterday evening.   Dense smoke has created an unsafe operating environment and forced the temporary closure of numerous terminals utilized by APL, including:

Global Gateway South (GGS)

AP Moller Terminals (APMT)

Yusen Terminals (YTI)

California United Terminals (CUT)

TraPac

Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT)

Since we cannot predict nor control the duration of the closures, we will not be able to immediately advise the extent of any delays that will be incurred to your cargo moving through the area.  APL will extend the freetime of affected shipments by the amount of time that the situation directly causes through terminal closures due to this incident.

We regret the inconvenience(s) caused as the result of this situation. For additional information regarding this matter and how it may apply to your shipment(s), please contact APL Customer Support via phone at 1-800-999-7733 or via email at nam_customer_support@apl.com.

Sincerely,

APL Customer Support
