On May 24, 2021, the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) partnership with Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) that established a dedicated portal where industry partners could request a DUNS number will end and the portal will no longer be available. D&B, a private registrar company, provides DUNS numbers, a unique nine-digit identifier used by businesses and business systems around the world, including many FDA applications.
In an effort to ensure that FDA external partners are aware of the sunsetting of the DUNS portal, we are asking filers to provide this message to all impacted customers by May 21 to keep everyone alerted.
D&B will provide firms a DUNS number free of charge, but this may take 45 business days or longer. D&B also provides an expedited service for a nominal fee.https://www.dnb.com/choose-your-country.html

For any new shippers that require an FDA manufacturer ID they will need to have a DUNS in order to receive an FDA Manufacturer FFR#.
