US Fish & Wildlife Service sent out a letter yesterday stating that they will no longer be accepting overtime appointments for inspection of regulated merchandise at LAX or the ports of LA/LB on the listed federal holidays. Please read the letter from Fish & Wildlife below and plan your shipment accordingly. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Dear Import/Export Community,
This email notice is for anyone who processes shipments that contain live and/or perishable wildlife. We will be closed and unavailable for overtime inspection and clearance of commodities regulated by US Fish and Wildlife Service and will not accept appointments for the following federal holidays:
Independence Day – Monday July 04
Labor Day – Monday September 05
Veterans Day – Friday November 11
Thanksgiving Day – Thursday November 24
Christmas Day – December 26
